You can view our game over here:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/globalgamejam.org\/2016\/games\/dances-elder-gods\">http:\/\/globalgamejam.org\/2016\/games\/dances-elder-gods<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So the theme for 2016&#8217;s GGJ was that of ritual, so we instantly started thinking of tribal communities worshiping their deity of choice. We started brainstorming in the pub on Friday night. Here are some sketches from then, (it&#8217;s surprising how close they are to the finished product).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Blog1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-114 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Blog1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"Blog1\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/blog2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-115 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/blog2-201x300.jpg\" alt=\"blog2\" width=\"201\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Initially we were unsure whether to make a straight rhythm game, or opt for a mastermind (board game) style game where you have to guess the correct pattern. Eventually we settled on the later.<\/p>\n<p>So we began development of the game, and I created an early prototype which had some form of dance input.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Screen-Shot-2016-01-31-at-20.22.48.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-116 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joelherber.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Screen-Shot-2016-01-31-at-20.22.48-300x169.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2016-01-31 at 20.22.48\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Michael (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Mikey_PB\">@Mikey_PB) <\/a>then worked on creating all the sfx and music, only sampling his voice to meet the &#8220;<strong>Loudmouth<\/strong>&#8221; GGJ diversifier (which totally worked for our style of game). Jules (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/julesRGB\">@julesRGB<\/a>) then squirrelled away creating us some art work while Kylie (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TajunShadow\">@TajunShadow<\/a>) worked creating us some low poly environments.
